There haven't been any posts in a while, despite (or perhaps because of?) the excitement surrounding the US re-release of the Sailormoon manga (not to mention the first US release of Codename: Sailor V!). Regardless, my last couple posts have been about rather meticulous & detailed illustrations...so I thought perhaps this time I'd take it back old-school with some fun stick figures!

I particularly like the first one, because I've always loved how Sailormoon has always possessed an equal balance between drama & romance and humour. Nothing like a good shot of Usagi cracking up.

This is an alternative drawing style that is one of my absolute favourites to use. I get really inspired by re-imagined versions of classic characters, so both the vintage aesthetic that a few people here use, as well a lot of the other stylizations, are some of the fan artwork that I like best. I appreciate when people do skillful fan art in the anime/manga style, but I like it best when illustrators employ their own unique hand to bring a whole new perspective to these familiar characters.

(***I totally get that they look a little drag-queen-ish, but I think it gives them some extra personality. :P )

Hi everyone - so excited that this forum exists to share our unique Sailormoon doodles and whatnot. All work I will be posting is my own, although you will see that I have various drawing styles. Enjoy!

The first is a really glamourous Sailormars I drew a few years ago. The second is just a quick pencil sketch I did the other week. My representations tend to be more in the style of fashion illustration, because that's the industry I work in.

It would be kind of cool because their uniforms would be more space babe, 50's sci-fi themed. I might do more with this later for no reason. Until then, here are some really rough sketches.

This was an experiment in seeing if I could break down Naoko's painting process... I had just started to think that my watercolours were stagnating, so I wanted to experiment with some new technique and start to incorporate them within my own. For curious parties, this is what it looks like without PS effects.

Hey everyone! I was accepted a while back but things got kinda hectic so I'm just now posting here. Here's a few images I did a while ago.

I've also been doing a lot of sketch card commissions and minis for sales at conventions. Most of these are still available save for Sailor Iron Mouse. Unfortunately my scanner doesn't like microns and prisma markers so sorry for the scan quality.

I'm so lazy about posting things. Here's my take on sailor moon, though in hindsight some of my original sketches I think were better. Maybe I'll post them sometime.

These are also the more finished/polished versions I did of the other soldiers. I spruced them up a little because before the shading was rushed and my original idea was lost a bit; hope you like it!

I draw guys at work all day. Which is nice, they wear spandex and are all macho and stuff. Itching to draw girly stuff again, but Jupiter is kind of the kick ass macho karate girl. Also I read an article about a possible new series of Sailor Moon!? I don't know how much is true but I did find some interesting Sailor Moon sites in the process... Moon Chase has tons of SM news and Miss Dream has lots of translations, including the extra comics in the Material and Art book's! ^^

Me again! I actually did this piece last year just for the fun of it after looking at a Coppertone sun-tan lotion bottle. I thought "Oh man, that would work so great with anime characters!" Chibi Moon was an obvious choice, and this is the final product! Hope you all enjoy it :D

Hello everyone, this is my first post here on Sailor MMM... and while I'm still a fledgling when it comes to Sailor Moon trivia, I hold the show in high regard as it was my very first exposure to the world of Anime. I actually remember the first time I ever saw Sailor Moon she was emblazoned upon a classmate's backpack. The drawing caught my eye and it was love at first sight! I don't remember the girl to whom the backpack belonged, but I'll forever remember Usagi's beaming face smiling at me and inviting me into a much larger world!

I have yet to sit down and watch the show all the way through, but I am quite familiar with the characters as they are something of icons from my youth. My favorite of which has always been Makoto Kino, Sailor Jupiter!>

So many ways to spell her name it seems, I just went with Ann for the filename.

She's always been one of my favorite villains, probably because she's so hot and then she has a hot counterpart, and then they both end up being good in the end. That or because her color and fashion sense kick ass.

One idea I've been kicking around lately is to have some kind of Sailormoon villain theme for a week, but school is getting ultra scary right now... so if I did announce something, it would probably not be for a little bit. Maybe even until after I've graduated. youch!

Sailor Moon may not be on American t.v. anymore (and if she is, why haven't you told me?), but that doesn't mean she doesn't live on in the hearts of the children.. that grew up and still draw her. If you've ever been interested, been inspired, or been tickled pink by the anime and manga Sailor Moon then this blog is for you.

My goal in creating this blog was to both present art that celebrated both the character and her universe as well as bring together people who, like me, still draw characters and whatsits from Sailor Moon in an environment where the act is encouraged rather than shunned.
